Pioneer Trek

Pioneer Trek was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Especially to be a Pa and Ma and experience it with Hiedi.

Our Trek family couldn’t have been better. We were so blessed to have Ryan Tucker in our family. He’s a 18-year-old 6′-1″ Young man who has physical limitations yet added so much to our family.

We also had one of the strongest kids with us Ryan McNeill (just got his mission call to Peru) that got to carried Tuck on his back while the girls did the women pull.

McNeill exerted himself so much that he finally collapsed at one of the camps due to heat exhaustion and needed medical care but then was right back to it without hesitation.

In the women’s pull Hiedi’s cart got to carry a girl who had physical limitations that added a whole other set of blessings an emotions.

Our Trek children gave me hope and courage to be able to accomplish any challenge I may face in my life. They were the elite sent forth to be an example and lead future generations.

The spirit has never been so strong! There were 32 families, 400+ people, walking 25+ miles in the middle of the desert in July with long pants and shirts and I’ve never been happier.

The scripture that comes to mind is:

“As I walk in the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil for thou art with me”

I can’t believe how blessed I am for what the poineers did my me. I wish you all the best in everything you do.
